Who The Back-To-School Workshop Is Really For?
This Workshop Is For Any Secondary Level Student

Who would benefit from getting an overview of their goals, the academic year, what to expect and some good habits
Who can feel overwhelmed quickly or anxious about school, upcoming tests, exams and even their future once the pace picks up in schools
Start the school year with good intentions, but struggle to maintain them once the workload starts to increase.
Struggle to keep track of what they need to do, with forgotten homework or missed deadlines and not knowing where to start with tasks and revision

Here's What Makes The Workshop So Unique & Effective
THESE ARE THE VARIOUS COMPONENTS YOUR TEEN CAN EXPECT TO LEARN WITHIN THIS WORKSHOP
#1
Goal Setting: Students will learn how to set meaningful academic goals for the year and, importantly, turn those bigger goals into practical habits and actions they can actually control. Method is based on the SMART framework.
#2
Create a Study & Success Routine: Students will look at how to build realistic routines around homework, revision and their other commitments, rather than relying on motivation or waiting until they feel like studying
#3
How to Track Progress : I'll teach students how to monitor their progress throughout the year so they can see what's working, recognise when they're starting to fall behind, and make adjustments before things become overwhelming.
#4
Understanding The Academic Year Ahead
I'll walk students through what they can expect over the coming months, including the increasing workload, assignments, class tests, mid-term exams, prelims/mocks and eventually final exams. The goal is to help them see what's coming before it arrives, rather than constantly reacting to the next deadline.
#5
Preparing For Challenges: Students will learn to identify some of the common things that can derail their plans eg. procrastination, lack of structure, poor time management, inconsistent revision, overwhelm and relying too heavily on motivation and I'll encourage them to think about how they'll handle these before they happen.
#6
Access to recordings and worksheets is available for up to 6 months after the date of purchase, so students can come back again and again to relearn the skills or remind themselves of what they learnt
This workshop is only ran once per year, so there's no better time than the now!
Hosted by the creator of The Study Strategy Lab, a study skills course that has received great feedback...

" Thanks to the study skills you teach, my daughter is no longer anxious, her confidence has skyrocketed and her grades have significantly improved.
This programme far exceeded our expectations and the change we have seen in our daughter is priceless! "
- Adela, mum to Study Strategy Lab student

"My son sitting exams in 2 months is now feeling more confident with better time management and effective revision methods that suit his learning style, something schools do not cover much.
We would highly recommend this to other secondary level students struggles to manage their workload, time or know how to study"
- Naomi, mum to student Ashton

Your teen could simply wing it and hope that this year they'll be organised, motivated and consistent. But without a clear plan, it's easy to fall back into the same habits; procrastinating, falling behind and becoming overwhelmed when the workload increases.

There are also plenty of great free resources online, but information alone doesn't create change. Your teen still needs to know what applies to them, where to start, how to put it into practice and how to stay consistent.

This workshop brings all of that together in one practical session, helping your teen start the year with a clear plan and a system they can actually use

For years, I’ve worked 1:1 with students preparing for National 5s, Highers, and Higher Human Biology — helping them go from anxious and disorganised to calm, consistent, and motivated.
But what I realised is this: It’s not just content that holds students back — it’s the lack of strategy.
That’s why I created this course. So every student can learn how to study — not just what to study — and carry those skills across every subject and every stage of school.
My work has supported students across Scotland through:
-
1:1 and group tutoring programs tailored to SQA qualifications
-
Self-paced revision courses and study skill resources
-
Online classrooms and toolkits used by parents and schools alike
